Indo-Pakistani War
The 1965 India and Pakistan war was the second conflict between the two countries over the state of Jammu and Kash mir. Although the clash didn't solve the dispute, it did urge the United States and the Soviet union to get involved. This conflict was caused when Pakistani and Indian forces began to argue about the disputed territory along the border of the two nations. And at this time, the world of politics (due to the cold war) affected the nature of the conflict. The U.S hoped to maintain a balance of power for the region, this meant not allowing India to influence the political development of other states, so India turned to the Soviet Union for assistance. Which put strain on U.S-Indian relations, even though the U.S provided them with assistance as well during the 1960s-1970s
